SAN ANTONIO — A gunman accused of wounding his father has died after being shot by officers responding to the domestic dispute northeast of San Antonio.
Bexar (bayr) County sheriff's deputies on Thursday night received a report that a man in his 20s shot his father at a home near Windcrest. The father ran to a neighbor for help.
Deputies arrived, entered the second floor of the home and then the son fired at them — wounding one officer. Two deputies returned fire, killing the suspect.
The injured deputy was treated for an arm wound. The suspect's father, who was shot in the upper body, was also taken to a hospital for treatment. Both are expected to recover.
The son's name wasn't immediately released.
The two deputies who opened fire are on administrative leave.
