SALT LAKE CITY — Former Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney will host another retreat in Utah for high-profile political figures, business leaders and campaign donors.
Romney's team sent invitations Thursday for the fourth Experts and Enthusiasts Summit. It will be held June 11-13 at the Deer Valley resort in Park City.
Among the confirmed attendees are five current or potential Republican presidential candidates: Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, Ohio Gov. John Kasich and South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham, The Salt Lake Tribune reported (http://bit.ly/1dSiON0 ).
Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush was invited but will be unable to make it because of an earlier scheduled trip to Europe, a summit staffer said.
The event has allowed Romney to maintain his political network and put his stamp on politics since his unsuccessful race against President Barack Obama in 2012.
It has attracted big names, including a few Democrats such as former Obama senior adviser David Axelrod, who is expected to make a second appearance at the event at the Stein Eriksen Lodge.
Romney, who lives in Utah, briefly considered a third presidential run but decided against it in January. He has remained politically involved, most recently accusing Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton of politicizing the racial unrest in Baltimore.
Plans call for the group of political and business leaders to participate in a mix of policy discussions and outdoor recreation. "The common interest of the group (is) the strength and future of American leadership," Romney adviser Spencer Zwick said.
The event has been co-organized by Romney and Solamere Capital, the venture capital firm led by Zwick and Romney's son, Tagg Romney. Mitt Romney is chairman of Solamere's executive committee.
