LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas — The city of Little Rock plans a formal investiture ceremony and reception for its new police chief, who took over the department about two months ago.
The ceremony is planned for 6 p.m. Thursday for Police Chief Kenton Buckner. The city will present Buckner with his Arkansas law enforcement certificate, and Buckner will publicly wear his Little Rock Police Department uniform for the first time.
The city says Buckner's mother will be on hand to pin the chief's badge on his uniform. The ceremony will also feature remarks from the deputy police chief in Louisville, Kentucky, where Buckner previously served.
