COLUMBUS, Ohio — State officials are set to release Ohio's latest unemployment rate and jobs data across sectors such as construction, manufacturing and health care.
The Friday morning report coming from the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services will show employment figures for August.
The state's unemployment rate dropped to an even 5 percent in July, its lowest level since 2001. That report also showed Ohio had 286,000 unemployed workers in July — down 10,000 from June.
Ohio's August unemployment rate was 5.7 percent last year.
The state's rate has been tracking below the national rate, which was 5.1 percent last month.
