3 schools placed on lockdown after off-campus shooting; 2 teens suspended

TALLAHASSEE, Florida — Officials say two Florida Panhandle high school students have been suspended following an off-campus shooting that prompted lockdowns at three campuses.

The Leon County Sheriff's Office reports that a 14 and 16-year-old were shooting a gun at an abandoned home Thursday morning. Nearby Lincoln High School, Apalachee Elementary School and the Ace-Adult & Community Education were placed on lockdown, but authorities say students were never in danger.

The teens were confronted by a neighbor armed with a shotgun. One teen fled, but the other was detained.

The Tallahassee Democrat (http://goo.gl/jeSnnT ) reports that the teens were questioned at Lincoln, but authorities didn't find a gun on them. It wasn't clear if they were facing criminal charges.
