PEMBROKE, New Hampshire — The New Hampshire Fire and Game Department has identified the snowmobiler who died after she failed to negotiate a curve and the snowmobile hit a pine tree.

Conservation Officer Lt. Jim Juneau says 58-year-old Deirdre Dunlea of Londonderry died of injuries she suffered in Saturday's crash as she was riding through woods on Corridor Trail 15N in Pembroke. Her husband and an adult son were riding on separate snowmobiles.

Juneau says Dunlea, an experienced snowmobile, apparently miscalculated and failed to negotiate a left curve and the snowmobile ran into the 8-inch-wide tree off the right side of the trail.

He says she was wearing a full-face helmet, and, despite life-saving efforts by responders, she never regained consciousness.
