HANOVER, Massachusetts — A race for the Massachusetts House of Representatives has been decided nearly three weeks after the election when the incumbent conceded.
Democrat Rhonda Nyman conceded Sunday to Republican challenger David DeCoste in the 5th Plymouth District race.
DeCoste tells The Patriot Ledger (http://bit.ly/11Q6iry) he received a phone call from Nyman on Sunday morning.
DeCoste, a member of the Norwell board of selectmen, won the seat by 49 votes over for Nyman, a Hanover resident.
Nyman conceded after DeCoste picked up three votes during hand recounts in Rockland on Friday and in Hanover on Saturday.
Nyman said on her website that she was "disappointed in the outcome but proud of the positive, issue-oriented campaign we ran."
