MONTPELIER, Vermont — Much of Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine is bracing for a series of strong thunderstorms moving into the region.
Fireworks, parades and other events planned for Thursday to begin the July 4 holiday were postponed due to the looming weather.
A severe thunderstorm watch was issued for much of the region through late Friday. A severe thunderstorm warning was issued for Vermont's Rutland County. Some areas are also under a flash flood watch.
At about 6 p.m. weather radar showed a line of storms from Quebec to southern New York. The northern edge was crossing into Vermont.
