ALBANY, New York — Volunteer fire departments across New York state are holding open houses to recruit new members.
The open houses Sunday are part of the Firemen's Association of the State of New York's fifth annual recruitment drive. The organization has a list of open house locations online at http://www.recruitny.org .
The recruiting program is aided by a $4.2 million federal grant.
