Hornets sign free agent guard Elliot Williams, now have 16 players under contract

CHARLOTTE, North Carolina — The Hornets have announced they have signed free agent guard Elliot Williams.

Terms of the deal were not released Tuesday.

The 6-foot-5 Williams signed a 10-day contract with Charlotte last season but didn't see any playing time.

Williams has played in 104 career NBA games for Portland, Philadelphia, Utah and New Orleans since being selected 22nd overall pick in 2010 draft. He has averaged 5.1 points and 1.5 rebounds per game during his career.

After his brief stint with the Hornets last season Williams played for the Santa Cruz Warriors of the NBA D-League, where he was an All-Star and helped his team win a championship. Named second team All-D-League, Williams averaged 21.3 points and 7.4 assists and per game.

The move leaves the Hornets with 16 players under contract.
