NORFOLK, Virginia — A man faces a state weapons citation after police confiscated a loaded handgun at Norfolk International Airport.
The Transportation Security Administration says its officers detected the semi-automatic handgun in a carry-on item at a security checkpoint Thursday.
TSA officers contacted the Norfolk Airport Authority Police, which confiscated the gun and ammunition. The man was ticketed to fly to Chicago.
Officials say airport operations were not disrupted.
It marked the seventh gun the TSA has detected at the airport this year.
