SEATTLE — A fire spokesman says a woman died in a house fire early Sunday in Seattle's Mount Baker neighborhood.

Seattle Fire Department's Kyle Moore says the woman was unconscious when firefighters rescued her from a second-floor bedroom. Firefighters attempted to perform CPR on the woman but could not revive her. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

A second person who lived at the home was out of town at the time. The fire happened just after 1 a.m. Sunday.

Fire crews arrived to find heavy flames coming out of the first floor.

Moore says the blaze completely destroyed the two-story home, causing an estimated $2 million in damages.

Investigators have not yet determined what caused the fire.
