BERLIN — Branimir Hrgota's injury-time equalizer salvaged a 1-1 draw for Borussia Moenchengladbach at Hamburger SV and left the home side in Bundesliga relegation trouble on Sunday.
Zoltan Stieber's 73rd-minute strike looked enough to lift struggling Hamburg away from the relegation zone one week after the side suffered its worst ever league defeat in the 8-0 loss at Bayern Munich.
But Hrgota scored with a header from a corner in the 92nd to earn a point and consolidate third place.
The second half was an uneventful affair until Artjoms Rudnevs set up Stieber to curl his effort inside the far post on a counterattack.
Hrgota cut the Hamburg celebrations short.
