CHARLOTTESVILLE, Virginia — Charlottesville Albemarle Airport police have confiscated a loaded handgun found in a man's carry-on bag.

The Transportation Security Administration says the Fort Valley man told officers he forgot that he had the gun with him.

A TSA officer staffing the airport's checkpoint X-ray machine discovered the loaded semi-automatic gun early Thursday morning.

The TSA says in a news release that airport police didn't cite or arrest the man.
