Brown-Forman posts profit of $156 million in 1st quarter

LOUISVILLE, Kentucky — LOUISVILLE, Kentucky — Brown-Forman Corp. (BF.A) on Wednesday reported fiscal first-quarter profit of $156 million.

The Louisville, Kentucky-based company said it had net income of 75 cents per share.

The liquor company that makes Jack Daniel's and other brands posted revenue of $699 million in the period.

Brown-Forman expects full-year earnings to be $3.40 to $3.60 per share.

Brown-Forman shares have increased 24 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has increased 18 percent in the last 12 months.
