WARWICK, Rhode Island — The Rhode Island Department of Health has recommended that Oakland Beach in Warwick close to swimming.

WPRI-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1KiMH1J ) officials say the department has found high bacteria counts in the water.

The beach was last closed July 28 for the same reason and reopened two days later after the bacteria levels were determined safe for swimming.

The state regularly monitors water quality at beaches throughout the summer months to ensure safe conditions for swimmers.
