FAYETTEVILLE, North Carolina — A Hoke County man has been arrested and charged with killing a Fort Bragg soldier during a break-in at his home last October.

Donovan Lamar Moon, 26, of Lumber Bridge has been charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of 35-year-old Sean Wells, a Special Forces soldier.

Police are looking for a second man who was with Moon that night.

Police said two men wearing masks and carrying guns entered Wells' home through an unlocked door on Oct. 7. Police say Wells' wife and their 4-year-old son were forced into another room. Investigators say the men shot Wells and left in his wife's car. The car was found the next day in Fayetteville.

Moon also is charged with two counts of first-degree kidnapping and one count of first-degree burglary, armed robbery and conspiracy.

It was not clear if he has an attorney.

He had been scheduled to appear in court this week on earlier charges including theft of a gun, being a felon in possession of a gun, obtaining money by false pretense, breaking and entering, larceny and possession of stolen property. He had been arrested on those charges in March.
