OPELOUSAS, Louisiana — An escaped attempted murder suspect accused of shooting someone in the head is back in custody after he jumped out of the back of a city marshal's unit more than two weeks ago.

KATC-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1C1NMMC ) authorities in Evangeline Parish arrested Theobegi Levier in Ville Platte this week.

Levier was transported back to Opelousas where officers held him until Eunice Police could pick him up to book him on attempted first-degree murder and attempted armed robbery charges. He also faces a count of simple escape from Opelousas and counts of stolen vehicle and probation violations from Ville Platte.

Eunice Police say Levier shot a man in the head during a drug deal gone bad. The victim is expected to recover.
