FAYETTEVILLE, Arkansas — Charleston has spent most of the season as the team to beat in Class 3A.

Led by standout quarterback Ty Storey, the top-ranked Tigers (8-0) will have a perfect opportunity to prove their spot among the state championship contenders when they host defending Class 4A champion Booneville on Friday night.

Storey, who has already committed to play for Arkansas next season, led Charleston to the Class 3A championship last year. This season, the Tigers haven't scored less than 42 points in a game — including a 44-6 win over Lavaca last week.

The Bearcats (7-1), meanwhile, have won six games in a row since an early season loss at Class 4A No. 1 Dardanelle, and they hope to show they can beat Class 3A's best on Friday.
