SCOTTSDALE, Arizona — Police in Scottsdale say a man has been arrested for allegedly assaulting a police officer with a knife.
They say 23-year-old Dylan Robert Liberti is facing multiple charges including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Police say a Scottsdale patrol officer stopped Liberti for jaywalking across Shea Boulevard about 8:30 a.m. Friday and he fought with the officer at the scene.
During the fight, police say Liberti pulled a knife from his pocket.
The knife was knocked away by the officer and the fight continued.
Police say Liberti made several unsuccessful attempts to grab the officer's gun.
Liberti was eventually handcuffed and transported to a hospital with cuts and abrasions.
It's unclear if he has a lawyer yet.
Police say the officer suffered only minor abrasions.
