EASLEY, South Carolina — Authorities say someone riding a moped has died after a crash in Pickens County.

The State Highway Patrol tells local media outlets that the crash happened at around 7 p.m. Saturday a few miles west of Easley.

Troopers say the driver ran off the right side of the road and hit a curb. Authorities say the driver was thrown from the moped and died at the scene.

The person's name has not been released, and authorities are still investigating the crash. The patrol says the driver was not wearing a helmet.
