CARSON CITY, Nevada — Authorities say an 84-year-old inmate in prison for second-degree murder and use of a deadly weapon has died.
The Nevada Department of Corrections said Thursday that Lester Herman had died the day before at the Northern Nevada Correctional Center's regional medical facility in Carson City, Nevada.
The agency says Herman had been imprisoned since June 28, 2000 and was serving consecutive sentences of up to 25 years each.
The agency says the Carson City Sheriff's coroner will conduct an autopsy.
