BALTIMORE — Police in Baltimore say three men were killed and six others were injured, including a 9-year-old girl, after a string of seven shootings overnight.

Police say in one shooting in northern Baltimore around 10 p.m. Friday, 45-year-old Kirk Butler was shot and a bullet grazed the lower body of a girl. Butler was taken to a hospital, where he died. The girl was treated at a hospital and later released.

Around the same time in southwest Baltimore, police say 23-year-old Romel Simms was killed when a man got out of a car and shot him multiple times before running off. About an hour later, police say 26-year-old Thomas Meehan was shot multiple times near a southeastern Baltimore playground and died at a hospital.
