Authorities investigating after 54-year-old man's body found in Massachusetts lake

LEOMINSTER, Massachusetts — Authorities are investigating after a 54-year-old man's body was found near a lake in Massachusetts.

Worcester District Attorney Joseph Early Jr.'s office says authorities were called to Lake Whalom in Leominster around 8:30 a.m. Thursday.

Spokesman Tim Connolly says the man was found on the steps leading to a boat ramp on Lakeside Avenue.

Connolly says that investigators don't see any signs of foul play or anything suspicious. A hazardous-materials team recovered a bottle of liquid that has been tested.

He says the medical examiner has the body and will determine the cause and manner of the man's death.

His identity has not been released.
