GULFPORT, Mississippi — Gulfport police say a shooting that left one man dead and another injured has resulted in the arrest of the injured man on a charge of second-degree murder.
Sgt. Damon McDaniel tells The Sun Herald (http://bit.ly/1MsFDGg ) police took custody of 26-year-old Adam Antonio Fairley shortly after his release from the hospital Monday, where he had been undergoing treatment since he was shot in an exchange of gunfire Friday.
Killed in the shooting was 19-year-old Keon Rashod Bryant, who was found dead of a gunshot wound to the chest in a ditch on George Street.
Police say an investigation determined the shooting was drug-related.
Fairley remains in jail on a $1 million bond.
Jail officials couldn't provide the name of a defense attorney to comment on the charges.
