Northfield school postpones last day of class after 'unsubstantiated threat'

NORTHFIELD, New Jersey — Officials postponed the last day of class at Northfield Community School while officials investigated an "unsubstantiated threat."

Police on Wednesday searched the building in Atlantic County and a seventh grade boy was taken into custody, but not charged.

The Press of Atlantic City ( ) reports police are searching the boy's home after another student alerted authorities on Tuesday night.

Officials have not provided any details on what the threat was.

Police will be on hand as a precaution for the last day of class on Thursday.

The eighth grade graduation will take place as scheduled Wednesday night.
