VANCLEAVE, Mississippi — Two people died in a car accident on Old River Road in Vancleave. Two others were sent to the hospital.

Jackson County Sheriff Mike Ezell tells WLOX TV (http://bit.ly/1vGi937 ) a car crashed into a tree around 1:15 a.m. Wednesday. Ezell says no one in the car was wearing a seatbelt. Investigators believe speed was a factor.

Ezell identified the dead as 47-year-old Edward Dean Parnel, of Vancleave, and 40-year-old Brian Matthew Walls, of Escatawpa.

The injured include 40-year-old Robert Asa Vice Jr. and 27-year-old Kelley Burroughs, both of Helena. Ezell both are in critical condition. He says Vice was driving the car when it crashed.

The crash is still under investigation.
