Pedestrian dies after being hit by vehicle on US 119; Charleston police search for driver


CHARLESTON, West Virginia — Charleston police are searching for the driver of a vehicle that hit and killed a pedestrian.

Police identified the victim as 42-year-old Carl Epling of St. Albans.

Police said in a news release that the vehicle fled after hitting Epling around 12:30 a.m. Thursday along northbound U.S. 119. A passing motorist saw a vehicle with light offs exit the highway at Davis Creek Road.
