BELLOWS FALLS, Vermont — Vermont State Police say an autopsy on a 5-month-old girl found unresponsive at her Bellows Falls home has provided no clear answer on what caused her death.
Detectives said Wednesday the Vermont Chief Medical Examiner's office was conducting additional tests following the death of Emily Branch last weekend.
The infant was found unresponsive overnight Saturday into Sunday.
Investigators say the girl's mother returned home from work to find her daughter sleeping but soon after noticed she was unresponsive. The girl was pronounced dead at a hospital.
