NASHVILLE, Tennessee — Police have captured the remaining escapee from Woodland Hills juvenile detention center and charged him with shooting a Tennessee State University student earlier this week, officials said.

De'mario Fisher, 18, faces charges of attempted homicide, especially aggravated robbery and unlawful gun possession in the attack on a TSU student Wednesday night, Metropolitan Nashville Police said.

A university statement released late Friday says Fisher tried to grab the victim's backpack while she was walking home from a restaurant in Nashville. The victim fought back and was then shot multiple times. She was treated at a local hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.

Fisher has been a fugitive since he and more than 30 other teenagers escaped from Woodland Hills on Sept. 1. That escape was the first of three major incidents at the facility in September. There also was a riot in the yard and another breakout in which 13 teens escaped.

Police said officers located Fisher at a residence and arrested him outside the home. After he was handcuffed, Fisher began to resist a police sergeant and tried to reach into the back of his pants, officials said. A loaded semi-automatic pistol fell from Fisher's pants during the struggle, but Fisher was quickly subdued, police said.

Authorities are expected to charge Fisher with assault on a police officer, resisting arrest and unlawful gun possession for his alleged actions during the arrest.
