LACONIA, New Hampshire — Police in Laconia, New Hampshire, say an 11-year-old boy has been found hours after he was reported missing, at a friend's house.

Sgt. Gary Hubbard said Brian Patten normally walks from Laconia Middle School Day Camp at Opechee Park to a neighbor's apartment at about noon each day.

The Citizen reports (http://bit.ly/1rSBrot) when he didn't arrive on Wednesday, the neighbor called Patten's mother, who called police.

Police posted a photo of Patten, along with his description on social media. They also sent out emails to media and automated calls to homes.

Hubbard said the mother of a friend logged on to Facebook and recognized that the boy listed as missing was the one at her house. He said Patten didn't tell anyone that he was going to a friend's house.
