ELON, North Carolina — Tanner Samson had his first career double-double, 25 points and 11 rebounds, to lead Elon to a 117-73 win over Central Pennsylvania College on Sunday.
Elon scored a school-record 126 points in the first ever meeting between the schools last season. The previous mark was set in 1955 with 124 points.
Samson was 7 of 12 from 3-point range for Elon (5-3) and 2 for 3 from inside the arc — after entering the game 1 for 16 on two-point field goals. Samson, a junior, now has 170 career 3-pointers. The school record at Elon is 264.
Devon Dorsey led Central Penn College with 26 points. Andre Battle had 18 and Tyree Tucker 12.
