HARTFORD CITY, Indiana — Residents of a northeastern Indiana city hit by nearly a foot of rain are cleaning from floodwaters that receded quickly after Friday's torrential rains.
Friday's downpour dropped about 11 inches of rain on Hartford City, flooding streets and neighborhoods in the Blackford County seat that's about 20 miles north of Muncie.
Residents Tim and Jenna Wright returned to their home Saturday at a mobile home park hit by the flooding to try to get their waterlogged cars running again.
Tim Wright tells WTHR-TV (http://bit.ly/1toLNvm ) that the floodwaters got so high they entered the cup holder in his car.
Jenna Wright hopes her car dries out quick because she drives nearly a half-hour to work in nearby Marion. She says their home appears in good shape but she's worried about mold.
