MEMPHIS, Tennessee — A Memphis man has been charged with vehicular homicide stemming from a Christmas 2012 wreck after the other person involved died earlier this year.

Shelby County District Attorney General Amy Weirich says charges were upgraded Wednesday against 51-year-old Songg Feng Xu. Weirich says Xu's car collided with a vehicle driven by 60-year-old Larry Williams on Dec. 25, 2012 in southeast Memphis.

Weirich says Williams was critically injured in the wreck and died of his injuries on Aug. 4.

Xu was initially indicted in December on charges of vehicular assault and DUI, but now faces upgraded charges of vehicular homicide involving intoxication and DUI.

It was unclear Wednesday if Xu had an attorney.
