Police: Wilmington man who survived earlier drive-by shooting shot, crashes car

WILMINGTON, North Carolina — Police say a Wilmington man who survived an earlier drive-by shooting is dead after he was shot and crashed his car.

Police tell local media that the death of 21-year-old Ali Iquan Dameish Rouse is being treated as a homicide. Rouse was found dead with a gunshot wound after his car crashed into a second vehicle at 11 a.m. Tuesday.

Police think he was shot at a nearby apartment complex.

No arrests have been made.

Police say that last November, Rouse suffered a gunshot wound to the groin when he and another man were targeted in a drive-by shooting.
