HELENA, Montana — A 71-year-old East Helena woman died of injuries suffered in a two-vehicle crash north of East Helena.

The Montana Highway Patrol says the woman was westbound on Canyon Ferry Road Wednesday morning when her van crossed the center lane into the path of an eastbound pickup truck. Lewis and Clark County officials say June A. White was not wearing a seat belt and died at the scene of the crash.

The 59-year-old man driving the pickup had moved off the right side of the road in an unsuccessful attempt to avoid the collision. He was taken to the hospital for treatment of his injuries.
