LARAMIE, Wyoming — A member of the University of Wyoming Nordic ski club performed particularly well during the World University Games in Slovakia.

The games attract competition from athletes representing about 30 countries.

Junior Elise Sulser, of Casper, finished 23rd overall in the women's 5 km classic event. Her finish was the highest among all USA team members.

Sulser is among 13 members of the UW club team, along with four UW coaches, who attended the World University Games through this past week.

It was the third time UW's men's and women's Nordic ski club teams have been invited to compete in the World University Games.
