WORCESTER, Massachusetts — Police are searching for the driver of a vehicle that struck a Worcester man in a fatal hit-and-run accident.

Police say the 56-year-old pedestrian was hit just before 3 a.m. Saturday on West Boylston Street near St. Christopher Parish.

The man was taken to a local hospital, where he died. Police have not identified the victim.

Investigators say the vehicle may be a 2000 or 2002 GMC Yukon or Sierra or another large SUV or truck.

Police say the vehicle is likely missing its passenger-side mirror, may have a broken front headlight or grill and should have damage to its front passenger side.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Worcester police.
