PHILADELPHIA — Police are investigating the shootings deaths of two men in different parts of Philadelphia overnight.

Officials said a man was shot in north Philadelphia minutes after receiving a phone call and asking his grandmother to watch his children.

The 29-year-old victim was later found dead of gunshot wounds in the street at about 11:30 p.m. Saturday in the Tioga section of the city.

A little less than three hours later, police were called after shots rang out at a south Philadelphia playground.

Police found a 35-year-old man dead at the scene in the playground in the Grays Ferry section of the city shortly after 2 a.m. Sunday.

No arrests were announced and there was no immediate word on the motives of either shooting.
