CEO of Bluefield Regional Medical Center resigns, search underway for new leader


BLUEFIELD, West Virginia — Bluefield Regional Medical Center is searching for a new leader following the resignation of CEO David Henry.

Hospital officials say Henry resigned to pursue another professional opportunity out of state. He had served as the Bluefield hospital's chief executive officer since June 2014.

The Bluefield Daily Telegraph (http://bit.ly/1IB2eOG ) reports that hospital officials announced Henry's resignation on Monday. Gigi Fergus was named interim CEO.

Hospital spokeswoman Rebekah Ritter says members of the hospital's board of trustees, medical staff and administration will participate in the search for a new CEO.
