WHEATON, Illinois — Prosecutors in suburban Chicago say an Addison man has pleaded guilty to stabbing his wife to death in 2013.
DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin said Friday that 35-year-old Kurtis Worley pleaded guilty in front of Judge Liam Brennan to two counts of first-degree murder and one count of attempted first-degree murder. Authorities say Worley was armed with two knives when he attacked Martha Worley as she slept, stabbing her multiple times in the head and face.
Officials say Kurtis Worley also stabbed one of the couple's sons in the neck when he entered the room after hearing his mother cry for help. The son survived the attack.
Kurtis Worley is next due in court Feb. 25. He has been in custody since the July 26, 2013, killing.
