Man pulled from burning home by police officer in suburban Philadelphia dies

WARMINSTER, Pennsylvania — A man who was pulled from a burning home in suburban Philadelphia by a passing police officer has died.

A spokesman for the Philadelphia Medical Examiner's Office says an autopsy was scheduled to take place Monday for 56-year-old Robert Hill. The results haven't been released.

Warminster Police Officer Andrew Simkiw rescued Hill from the fire early Friday morning after he found him unconscious on the front porch. Simkiw and another officer performed CPR on Hill until an ambulance arrived. Hill was eventually taken to Temple University Hospital, where he later died.

Fire officials say the blaze started in the kitchen and was accidental.
