2 men killed in separate shootings in Rochester; cops say slayings don't appear to be related


ROCHESTER, New York — Police in Rochester say a 27-year-old man has been killed in the city's second fatal shooting within a six-hour period.

Officials say the second shooting occurred around 8:15 p.m. Monday on Portland Avenue. Police say officers arriving on the scene found Jonathan Delgado at an intersection.

He was taken to nearby Rochester General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The earlier shooting occurred around 2:40 p.m. on Devonshire Court on the city's southwest side. Police say 25-year-old Justin Crowder of Rochester was found dead at the scene.

Authorities have charged police charged a 44-year-old man with killing Crowder.

Police say the two shootings don't appear to be related.

This story has been changed to correct the age of the second victim to 27 instead of 26.
