JENNINGS, Louisiana — Starting at 7 a.m. Saturday, Entergy Corp. plans to move power lines across Interstate 10 near Jennings, requiring the intermittent closure of both east- and westbound travel lanes.

Louisiana State Police say it's currently unknown how long the utility work will take.

Motorists planning to travel through the area, at milepost 64 — 64 miles from the Texas state line — in Jefferson Davis Parish, are urged to be cautious and aware of stopped vehicles. They're also warned to expect delays and to allow extra time to reach their destination.

Alternate routes include U.S. Highway 90 to the south and U.S. Highway 190 to the north.
