Police: body recovered from the Anacostia River

WASHINGTON — Police in Washington say a body has been recovered from the Anacostia River.

Police say they were called around 7:30 a.m. Friday for a report of a body in the river and that the body was found underneath the Benning Road bridge in northeast. Police described the deceased as a black man between the ages of 20 and 30.

Police say an autopsy will be performed to determine the man's cause of death.
