LARAMIE, Wyoming — An environmental assessment for a plan to govern travel and recreation on a section of public land in Roger Canyon north of Laramie is out for public review.
The Laramie Boomerang reports (http://bit.ly/1s5p05z ) that the plan could be implemented as soon as next month.
The Bureau of Land Management is considering changes to help curb conflicts, nuisance shooting, off-road vehicle use, littering and resource destruction.
Roger Canyon Road is a popular cycling destination, but some users have complained about feeling unsafe because of shooting near the road.
A comment period runs through Monday.
The proposal includes a new fence along Roger Canyon Road and building three parking areas. Other roads would be closed.
