LAS VEGAS — An Ely State Prison inmate serving time for burglary has died after a two-month stay at a Las Vegas hospital.

The Nevada Department of Corrections says 47-year-old Ronald Daniels died Friday at University Medical Center.

Daniels, who was serving a two- to eight-year sentence for a Clark County burglary conviction, was taken to the hospital on March 19 with undisclosed health problems.

An autopsy will be performed to pinpoint his cause of death.

He had been a prisoner since last July
