CONCORD, New Hampshire — The New Hampshire Employment Security office says the state's unemployment rate still hasn't changed since April, registering at 4.4 percent for August.
In August 2013, the seasonally adjusted rate for New Hampshire was 5.3 percent.
Nationally, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for August was 6.1 percent, a decrease of 0.1 percentage point from July, and a decrease of 1.1 percentage points from the August 2013 rate.
In New Hampshire, seasonally adjusted estimates for August placed the number of employed residents at 707,640, a decrease of 3,400 from the previous month and an increase of 5,480 from August 2013.
The number of unemployed residents decreased 60 over the month to 32,720. This was 6,280 fewer unemployed than in August 2013.
