PHOENIX — Phoenix police are trying to figure out who was the driver of a vehicle that fatally struck a bicyclist before fleeing early on Thursday morning.

Sgt. Jonathan Howard said the victim is 44-year-old Robert Anderson. He was struck by a 2001 white Chrysler minivan on 51st Avenue near Southern Avenue around 1 a.m.

Howard says police found the car at a nearby residence but haven't determined who was driving it.

Anderson died at a local hospital.
