Marshalltown father arrested after police say he was driving drunk with 4 children in car

NEWTON, Iowa — A Marshalltown father with a history of drunken driving arrests is facing several charges after authorities in Newton say he was drunk driving with his four children in the car.

Des Moines television station KCCI reports (http://bit.ly/1Q78C0g ) that 40-year-old Juan Bonilla Barron is charged with operating while intoxicated and four counts of child endangerment.

Jasper County deputies stopped Barron in Newton on Sept. 26 after a deputy said he noticed Barron driving erratically.

Prosecutors say Barron refused all tests and acknowledged several times that he was intoxicated. Deputies say the four children in the car were ages 10, 9, 7 and 1.

Barron is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday. Police say this is his third arrest for operating while intoxicated.
